Arrow Tips

Arrow is a rock steady horse for the students, but he does have a few quirks. The main detail about him is that he does not have a left eye. It was removed due to an ailment that was painful and was not going to get better. Since he can’t see on that side, it is very important to always use your verbal cues with him. When standing in front of him during safety checks and dismounting, please stand slightly off to his right side so he can see you better.

He can be a little nippy at times, so be sure to have a short enough lead to control his head, but please do not hang on the lead line. You will have a difficult time getting him to trot if you have too much pressure on the lead line.

In the crossties, he is much happier having only one person in the area with him.
